Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare for work
- Receive and give shift handover
- Identify work requirements
- Identify and control hazards
- Coordinate with appropriate personnel
- Check for recent work undertaken on magnetic/electrical separation equipment
- Note any outstanding/incomplete work
- Check operational status of magnetic/electrical separation equipment
- Operate magnetic/electrical separation equipment in accordance with procedures
- Recognise and take action on abnormal situations in accordance with procedures
- Monitor magnetic/electrical separation equipment frequently and critically throughout shift using measured/indicated data and senses
- Identify impacts of any changes upstream and downstream
- Recognise situations which may require action
- Resolve routine problems
- Take actions on other abnormal situations to make safe and have the situation resolved
- Isolate and de-isolate magnetic/electrical separation equipment
- Complete any required pre-start checks
- Start up/shut down/changeover magnetic/electrical separation equipment according to the plant type and duty in liaison with other personnel
- Isolate magnetic/electrical separation equipment
- Make safe for required work
- Check magnetic/electrical separation equipment is ready to be returned to service
- De-isolate and prepare magnetic/electrical separation equipment for return to service
